Entrepreneurs Don’t Sleep
Entrepreneurs Don’t Sleep
In a recent conversation I had, someone continued to talk my ear off about how tired they were and how bad their life is due to a lack of money. As they described their financial issues, I did my very best to seem interested and engaged. Good thing I was able to place them on mute and continue completing the tasks to run my business. Don’t judge me- I know you’ve placed folks on mute too.
Let’s keep it completely 100 and be honest. True entrepreneurs don’t complain, because they love what they do. It’s not always fun or glamorous, but it’s better than punching in and out for a shift. We’d rather sacrifice some of the small pleasures of life now, and earn the reward for a later time. For most of us, that one thing is sleep.
Most smart entrepreneurs know you have a small window of opportunity to launch your idea, gain the needed exposure in your market and build your brand. Well, none of that can be done overnight. Not only does it take time, but God has only given us 24 hours in a day as well. And again, the smart dedicated go-getters know this and make it happen despite the obstacles. Unfortunately, not everyone knew this when they selected this journey.
Since I’m easily working 12 hours a day now, I wanted you to know my companies haven’t even taken off to that next level. That next level requires more sacrifice and dedication, which converts to less sleep and more grind. Am I ready for it? Absolutely!
Somewhere within those 24 hours, we have to sleep and get our rest. But there is 7 billion other people in this world too. They want a piece of the action, but most aren’t willing to sacrifice sleep. Any successful entrepreneur knows you have to put in 10-18 hour days to make money in your sleep. If you like to sleep in, being an entrepreneur is not for you.
Are you ready to make those sacrifices? This isn’t bragging either. For those who are aspirational, this is the lifestyle of entrepreneurship that isn’t spoken about. Sleepless nights isn’t a saying- it’s a lifestyle. I just want folks to know because I wasn’t told what I was getting into. If I did, you probably wouldn’t be reading this. Good thing I have no regrets.
Corporate America is great for a lot of people, but I’m not one of them. I found my calling. Good thing, right?! It’s not for everyone. So make sure you self-assess and evaluate if being an entrepreneur is for you.
I write this because my business is personal because this service is for the advancement of all humanity. My failures and successes are for your gain. No strings attached.
