Ever since I was a kid, Costco was different and fun all at the same time. It was a favorite pastime to go shopping and looking around for deals because the product would always be new. Think of it as an Easter egg scavenger hunt, but nothing is really hiding. Just take your time and go through the store, and BOOM- you bought something!

Of course, you put something in your cart you didn’t need. That’s the beauty of it and the goal for Costco. Having been a Target executive for some years, I know we loved seeing shoppers put away their list and shop to their heart’s content. We called it, “great merchandising.” But really, it’s all a science.

To my Business 101 class, I want you to understand how this applies to your shopping escapades. Learn the science of how this warehouse giant has disrupted the industry with its billion-dollar unorthodox method.
