TiAT- Making a Choice to Change Your Attitude

Have you ever heard the saying, “your attitude is a matter of choice?” Well I have, and I hated it. I was like, what do you mean it’s a choice? I can’t control how this makes me feel, I’m not responsible for this, blah blah blah. No matter how much I hated the saying, it was true. I wasn’t responsible for what happened, and I couldn’t control how it made me feel, bu the attitude I had about the situation was a matter of choice. When you choose to change your attitude from negative, to positive it does you wonders.

I remember when I was faced with making the choice to go another quarter or so and graduate with an Associates in Arts, or go much longer than I wanted to and graduate with an Associates in Business. I was pretty disappointed in knowing that in order to get the degree I really wanted, it was going to take longer than I wanted. But I changed my attitude. I knew that I’d be more disappointed with a degree that didn’t set me up the way I needed to be in order to be successful in a bachelors program.

Make the choice to be happy in the long term, not in the short term. Better yet, make the choice to be happy in whatever situation you’re in. Happy is just another word for positive.

“Just because you come from a product of failure, that does NOT make you a failure. You determine that.”
