Business 101: Ethics

For our resource, a huge thanks to McGraw Hill Education’s, Understanding Business 11th Edition. This is our required textbook for our business students at Clark College. Being that this is my office hour, you can follow along with me. This is Business 101: Ethics.

Here are the definitions I covered:

Ethics– standards of moral behavior, that is, behavior accepted by society as right versus wrong.

Compliance-based Ethics Codes– ethical standards that emphasize preventing unlawful behavior by increasing control and by penalizing wrongdoers.

Integrity-based Ethics Codes– an organization that manufactures and markets products in many different countries and has multinational stock ownership and multinational management.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)– a business’s concern for the welfare of society.
