Creating Professional Videos with REX’s Tara Krick

Creating Professional Videos with REX’s Tara Krick

With all the latest gadgets and gizmos, the digital camera is a must. Matter of fact, it’s included with the ultimate must-have item: a cell phone. So to set the stage, this is an everyday accessory interweaved in our daily lives.

Having expensive video cameras is no longer a luxury item only for the rich. Since the cost of cameras and video recorders have immensely dropped in price, amateurish videos have popped up everywhere and are being monetized. Which brings me to the question, why are nonprofits not capitalizing on the monetization?

Good thing I have REX’s Tara Krick here with me to discuss how to create a professional video. Most videos that make an impact do not have to be long. Videos are a great opportunity for organizations to tell stories. It is the best way to drive a marketing campaign if your company can afford it. If your company can’t afford a high end video, then there is other alternatives that allows you to make a quality video.

Listen to the Podcast

For my readers out there, this is a must listen to podcasts. Nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs listen to Tara. She makes it really simple because it’s not rocket science. Her guidelines are the following:

  1. Find the value
  2. Let the professionals do the work
  3. Write it down

For more on those guidelines, you have to listen to the podcast. Tara works for REX Post in Portland, OR. Her 15+ years in the industry of producing and project manager for businesses makes her an expert that wouldn’t typically share these components in creating a professional video.

Here is some of their work:

From a US Marine to nonprofit executive director, I've been fortunate to do a lot of stuff. My quick history is I’m a brand marketer with a background in social good. In the process of running a small educational nonprofit, I learned the value of storytelling and digital branding. That’s how I got involve in marketing, websites, consulting via my podcast as well, and being an adjunct business professor at the local community college.
