TiAT- Nathan’s First Business Idea

My first business idea was a great one. It wasn’t even mine, lol. Someone close to me wanted to help me start a business if I purchased the tools and provided oversight. Since I had a few months left in the Marine Corps, this was perfect timing.

I was elated. This was a great time for me to start and get my business going as I transitioned into a civilian lifestyle. The only problem was I didn’t have any entrepreneurial business experience.

During that time in 2000, the resources were limited. The internet was still in its infancy. There was no local weekend seminar or workshop to gain experience. Being an entrepreneur seemed too difficult. I wanted something easier with guaranteed money. Looking back, hindsight is 20/20.

Truth be told, I didn’t know what to do. But I also didn’t know this was my calling, so I tossed it aside not thinking much of it. My new goal was to be a 9-5’er. However, God had other plans for me.

My destiny was to be an entrepreneur. Somehow, someway, it continued to always find me. I thought my goals of owning my business was just wishful thinking. Man, was I wrong. That’s why I keep making God laugh.

Thank you, God for not giving up on me!

I write this because my business is personal because this service is for the advancement of all humanity. My failures and successes are for your gain. No strings attached.

From a US Marine to nonprofit executive director, I've been fortunate to do a lot of stuff. My quick history is I’m a brand marketer with a background in social good. In the process of running a small educational nonprofit, I learned the value of storytelling and digital branding. That’s how I got involve in marketing, websites, consulting via my podcast as well, and being an adjunct business professor at the local community college.
