Create Graphic Designs with Canva

As a small business strategist and marketer I often create graphic designs with Canva for clients. Canva “is an online graphic design platform. It offers free access to a wide assortment of design tools and options, as well as premium options for paying customers.”

Graphic design is an important part of marketing your small business. These graphics will be associated to your brand. Your brand will be the immediately recognizable from the specific images you’ve designed. As a graphic designer, we’ve used Canva to create images for various occasions.

With a low budget in mind, the Canva platform small businesses can create everything from presentations, social media posts, posters to business cards. Graphic design experience isn’t needed either. You can create promotional advertisements, events invitations, and showcase your products through Canva’s easy-to-use graphic design.

If you’re looking to add more professionalism to your designs as a small business or nonprofit, I recommend using the platform for two reasons:

  1. It’s cost effective. There’s no cost to join. Images start at $1.00. If you use your own imagery and Canvas free items you can create great designs for free.
  2. It’s simple to use. Some graphic design programs can be complex and take hours to learn. With Canva you create an account, log in and begin immediately using the platform. No experience is needed.

Using picture one for example, I was able to create a simple yet eye catching design for promotions for an event. With Canva, I was able to select a unique background, font and font color and upload my own images, such as logos. In picture 2, I was able to crop a client’s wonderful food onto a snazzy background to promote product.

So If you’re looking to spice up your designs to promote your business product or services I recommend Canva.

Just because you come from a product of failure, that does NOT make you a failure. You determine that.
