Nonprofit Business Class
I’m excited to teach my new class, Nonprofits and Governments as Businesses, this Spring 2016. This is Clark College’s new nonprofit business class. It’s taken almost a whole year to make this a go. Since Summer 2015 when we got the approval, the Nonprofits and Governments as Businesses class is temporarily identified as BUS 280 – Selected Topics, which means it reads “BUS280- SEL TOP: NONPROFIT” within the Spring Registration. No bueno!
Regardless of the name, it’s going to be a fun time. There are so many of us wanting to do work in the community, but the basics of nonprofits are not really taught. The resources are scarce, and it’s hard to find people to help.
YOUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!!
- Nonprofits – have a great role in the World. The purpose, function and benefit of these organizations in our society are instrumental to our core. Without nonprofits, our great United States of America would look and operate totally different.
- Governments – is the core to every element in our everyday lives. Government has different aspects, but more importantly for this class it is a business for the country. In addition, their involved in every structured economy of income.
- Social Entrepreneurship – is a newer phenomenon, but the work has been going on for years. Social Entrepreneurship can be either for-profit or nonprofit. Their purpose is to do social good for a specified demographic with clear goals and results. A scale of measurement is based on impact for the social good.
All three topics mentioned above will give the student the building blocks of understanding the dynamics and processes of being a social entrepreneur. No experience is needed, but your participation will be. Develop your skill sets in Clark’s nonprofit business class and make a positive impact in your community!!
The BUS 280 course is a 3-credit class. Offered MW from 1-2:20pm. Section 6319. Register now!
See you in the classroom!
I write this because my business is personal because this service is for the advancement of all humanity. My failures and successes are for your gain. No strings attached.
