2016 Portland Marathon Training Begins
I’m really excited to have already begun my marathon training. I picked up some new shoes from Fleet Feet Sports and they’re awesome. I’m learning to focus more on the basics. For example, having the right equipment with the shoes and socks are critical.
These socks (picture on the right) cost $15. After taxes, I paid $17 for one pair of socks. However, these socks are no joke. They keep my foot nice and snug. If someone would have told me I’d be paying this much for a pair of socks, I’d tell them that they’re on drugs.
As for my shoes, they’re the Mizuno Wave Rider 18. The cost for these bad boys is approximately $110. I like them for the stability. When I get tired, I heel-strike really hard and then causes my knees to hurt from the shock. These shoes do a great job of absorbing the shock, especially when I’m carrying a lot of weight.
I’m happy to have these initial items to start my training. This will make a huge difference. Your feet, knees and back need all the support you can give them. And since I want them to stay healthy for me all my life, I need to treat them with a lot of TLC.
I write this because my business is personal because this service is for the advancement of all humanity. My failures and successes are for your gain. No strings attached.
